Megan and Chad were married last month at the beautiful Carillon Beach, Florida… one of the premium all inclusive locations along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Megan reserved the penthouse for her and her bridesmaids to get ready in which afforded for some GREAT picture opportunities. The wedding took place nearby on the beach where guests where shuttled via golf carts. The reception was held outdoors on Market Street which helped to create a festive and casual Florida evening and party. I don’t think I have seen more smiles on a bride’s face, than sweet Megan had that day. Congratulations Megan and Chad!!!

Uhh…. actually it’s kinda true. Luckily there are still SOME people out there that can tell the difference between a true professional photographer versus someone who just bought “a nice camera” lol…. and uses filters in editing software to make them acceptable. Unfortunately prices are being driven down drastically and true, full time professional photographers whose sole income comes from their work, are being out bidded for jobs by part time amateurs who can charge like $50 because it’s more of a hobby for them. This is when the women must separate themselves from the girls. 😉 That last part is because I’m a female.. lol
I just HAVE to get this off my chest… if someone wants a beach sunset session… there are two ways to do this… you can shoot with your subject facing the sunset, meaning THEIR background does not have the sunset in it… and alternatively you can shoot with the actual sunset behind your subject, expose for the background and then light your subject with flash which means you can see your smiling face and also see the lovely colors of the setting sun.
I honestly feel that when someone wants a beach family session at sunset, they want to see/keep/have a photo of themselves with that beautiful Florida sunset behind them to remember what they saw (hopefully everyday) while they were on vacation.
When you consider hiring a photographer to photograph your beach family sunset session… ask yourself if you want that beautiful setting sun as the background in some of your pictures? Knowing how to take that type of image requires technical understanding of how a camera works and how to use off camera lighting. When you go for the least expensive session price on the beach… will you get what you really want?
